Liz Dubelman
Book marketing strategist. Two-time Emmy Award winner. 25+ years helping authors share their work with the world.

Liz Dubelman has spent her career at the intersection of storytelling, media, and marketing. Before she ever worked with an author on a book launch, she was producing original content for some of the most distinctive voices in American culture—Carrie Fisher, Bill Maher, David Foster Wallace, Bill Bryson—learning firsthand that the best creative work needs thoughtful, authentic promotion to find its audience.
In 2005, she founded VidLit, a book marketing technology company that gave authors and publishers tools to promote their releases through bespoke video content. Before that, she led the production team at Jib-Jab, the legendary animation studio in Los Angeles.
But it was her direct work with authors—hundreds of them over more than two decades—that shaped her most important insight: the marketing process itself was broken, not because the tactics were wrong, but because nobody was accounting for the human being doing the work.
Authors aren't marketers. They're writers. They're creative, often introverted, and frequently overwhelmed by the sheer scope of what's expected of them after the book is done. The standard advice—“just get on social media,” “build your platform,” “start a newsletter”—lands differently when you're a person who chose writing precisely because it lets you work quietly and deeply.
That realization became the foundation of everything Liz does. She developed an approach she calls Whole Artist Marketing—a philosophy that treats marketing as a creative discipline rather than a corporate chore. It combines the practical work of book promotion with the coaching, encouragement, and creative sensitivity that authors actually need to get through it.
The Write Kit is the platform that brings this approach to life. It gives Liz the tools to build custom marketing plans for each author, deliver educational content that teaches the why behind every step, and stay connected with authors throughout the process—not as a distant consultant, but as a hands-on partner.
